Ameriloc® shaft locking devices
Ameridrives Couplings now offers a full line of Ameriloc internal and external locking devices and shaft couplings. All units are custom-engineered, manufactured, and tested to precise tolerances to meet specific customer requirements and provide years of trouble-free service.
Quality materials and state-of-the-art manufacturing process ensure high reliability. Units eliminate the need for keyways or splines allowing for unlimited shaft positioning. Installation and removal is easy using standard tools. Features include zero backlash, reduced shaft stress, and high contact pressure for greater torque. Tight contact prevents contamination in high dust and moisture environments.
All units are pre-assembled, ready to install. Torque range is from 13 to 4,303,675 ft.lbs (18 to 5,835,000 Nm). A wide range of standard sizes is available for shaft diameters from .39 to 53 in. Ameriloc® hydraulic shaft locking devices
Through an exclusive agreement with TAS Schafer GmbH, Ameridrives Couplings now offers hydraulic shaft locking devices which are custom-manufactured to precise tolerances per customer specifications. Ameriloc locking devices are highly engineered to provide years of trouble-free service.
The greatest advantage of the Ameriloc Type SHS hydraulic devices is the significant time savings during installation. This system can be tensioned at a pressure of between 1740 and 2900 PSI (120 and 200 bar). With larger diameters, such as 20.8 in. (530 mm), the SHS can be tensioned within only a few minutes, compared to several hours required for a mechanical locking device. The hydraulic pump required for assembly can be a stationary unit, e.g. at test stations and assembly areas, but the use of a hydraulic hand pump is also possible for tensioning at difficult-to-reach places such as the turret of a wind turbine. Type SHS devices can also be easily removed. Units eliminate the need for keyways or splines, provide unlimited shaft positioning, and feature zero backlash, reduced shaft stress, and high contact pressure for greater torque.

A wide range of standard sizes is available with hub diameters ranging from .55 to 24.41 in. (165 to 750mm) , and shaft diameters from 4.53 to 25.20 in. (115 to 640 mm).
